The University will recruit five researchers to its research groups
The Research and Innovation Committee has published its provisional decision on the UOC's postdoctoral grant call, awarding five grants for a period of three years each. The goal pursued by the grants is to attract new postdoctoral researchers to the University, applying qualitative and social assessment criteria that seek to look beyond the candidates' publications metrics.
The call has been divided into two parts: one to recruit four researchers to the UOC's research groups and another consisting of an interdisciplinary place. However, in the case of the second option, the applications received did not align with the requirements specified in the call's rules and was declared void. Consequently, it was decided to add this place to the first category.
The five selected applicants and the research groups they will join are listed below:
Joan Casas Roma, who will join the SMARTLEARN group led by Santi Caballé and associated with the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications.
Maite Garbayo Maetzu, who will join the Genders in Transition: Masculinities, Affects, Bodies, and Technoscience (MEDUSA) group, led by Begonya Enguix and associated with the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
Diego Alberto Oliva, who will join the Internet Computing & Systems Optimization (ICSO) group, led by professor Àngel A. Juan and associated with the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3), one of the UOC's research centres.
Maartje Roelofsen, who will join the New Perspectives in Tourism and Leisure (NOUTUR) group, led by Lluís Garay and associated with the Faculty of Economics and Business.
Francesc López Ramos, another ICSO researcher.
Appeals
Pursuant to the Royal Decree Law 463/2020, of 14 March, approved by the Spanish Government, the period for appeals is suspended during such time as the state of alarm is in force. Once the state of alarm has ended, candidates will have 10 calendar days to lodge such appeals that they consider appropriate, which the Committee will settle within a period of 4 calendar days.
After settling any appeals that have been lodged, the Committee will publish the call's final decision. The provisional decision is available in this document.
