27/11/2018
The National Contact Point for SwafS is attending and there will be opportunities for personal audiences and networking

On 19 December from 10 am to 1 pm, the Josep Laporte room of the UOC's Tibidabo centre (Avinguda del Tibidabo 39, Barcelona) will host an information session on opportunities for funding from the EU's Science with and for Society (SwafS) programme. This national event is jointly organized by the Catalan University and Research Grant Management Agency (AGAUR, of the Government of Catalonia) and the Oficina Europea (a Spanish Government department focusing on Horizon 2020). New SwafS funding calls will be open from December until April 2019. To attend, sign up via this link.

Rocío Castrillo, Spain's National Contact Point (NCP) for SwafS will be attending. First-hand information will be given on the new funding calls, and Jörg Müller, a researcher from the Gender and ICT (GENTIC) research group, will be telling the story of a UOC success in this area. And there will be possibilities for personal audiences with the NCP (by prior request via the sign-up form) and for networking. The welcome address will be given by Marta Aymerich, the UOC's Vice President for Strategic Planning and Research. See the programme on the event's web page.

The goals of the SwafS programme are to generate effective cooperation between science and society, to attract new talent towards science, and to match scientific excellence with social awareness and responsibility. Science with and for Society is to help citizens, organizations and regions start a new chapter in their development, through joint activities involving research and innovation and with five strategic orientations. These can be seen together with the calls in the web page for the event.

New SwafS funding calls open from December until 10 April 2019:

We look forward to seeing you there!
