UOC workshops and talks to coincide with the International Day of Women and Girls in Science
For the International Day of Woman and Girls in Science, the UOC collaborates with the initiative 11 of February. With the aim of contributing to eliminate the gender gap that currently exists in the scientific field. The UOC researchers, Ana Bach, Elena Muñoz, Raquel Viejo and Susanna Tesconi and Raquel Herrera will give talks to the students of the Perez Iborra and Sagrada Familia - Horta schools. The UOC organizes the "Tu pots ser investigadora" (you can be a researcher) event open to girls, boys, youth and their parents and the social media campaign #DiaDonaiCienciaUOC.

The UOC is teaming up with Col·legi Sagrada Família-Horta to run a family-oriented event on the 3rd of February aimed at raising awareness of girls' opportunities for careers in scientific research, promoting gender equality in science and provoking interest in STEM careers. Various female researchers from the UOC and the GenTIC research group – which specializes in gender equality – will be explaining what it means to be a researcher and a woman. The event will also feature a range of interactive workshops for children and teenagers and their parents. Details of the programme can be found here.
