UOC opens call for post-doctoral research stays

01/02/2016
To join the University's research centres and faculties

With the aim of fostering research stays at the UOC for doctoral teaching and research staff in any of the fields of work of its faculties and research centres, the UOC is opening a call to offer up to three places – with a duration of three years – in the listed departments, which can be consulted in the rules. The deadline for submissions is 2 March.

The call for 2016 UOC post-doctoral research stays was approved by the Research and Doctoral Committee – at the session held on 28 January– with a budget of 270,000 euros.

Conditions

Anyone interested in submitting should be aware that the status of research staff on a post-doctoral contract at the UOC is one of exclusive dedication and, therefore, incompatible with any contractual or regulatory ties that may affect exclusivity to dedication to research. Under no circumstances may beneficiaries have been hired by the UOC on an employment or mercantile contract in the two years immediately prior to the date of publication of this call.

Beneficiaries of this programme include research staff who have been awarded their doctoral degree after 1 January 2009 and before the deadline for the submission of applications.

The awarding of the grant entails the formalization of a one-year post-doctoral employment contract, extendible up to three years, for the sum of up to 30,000 euros a year gross, from which the withholdings set out by current legislation will be made.

The deadline for the submission of applications and documentation is 2 March. The ruling on the selection of candidates who will be awarded a grant will be made public after 17 March. Notification will be made by email, and will also be made public in this Research and innovation section of the UOC Portal.

The post-doctoral contract will begin on 1 June 2016 and all beneficiaries must join the research centre on that day.
