The project Participative project for the advancement of research on rare diseases, launched by a UOC research group, Sant Joan de Déu – Barcelona Children’s Hospital and the CIBERER Biomedical Research Centre, was awarded the solidarity prize by the Honda Foundation.
The project on rare diseases and inborn errors of metabolism developed by Sant Joan de Déu - Barcelona Children’s Hospital, the UOC and the Biomedical Research Networking Centre (CIBERER) received the Hinnovar Award for the platform Metabolic Commons. The award was presented by Novartis laboratories, in collaboration with ESADE and the Spanish Society of Healthcare Executives (SEDISA).
Ivan Serrano, researcher in the GADE research group of IN3, was awarded the 16th Ramon Trias Fargas Political Essay Award.
The prize organized by Catalan Association of Sociology (ACS) of the Institute of Catalan Studies (IEC) was awarded to Lídia Arroyo, a UOC research assistant. She received the prize for her work Joven para plegar y mayor para buscar trabajo (Too young to quit and too old to look for work), an analysis of long-term unemployment in women aged 45 and over.
The collective work La indústria catalana després de la crisi (Catalan industry after the economic crisis), co-written by Joan Torrent-Sellens, professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, received the Joan Sardà Dexeus Award, which recognizes the book’s influence on the economy and business.
Mireia Fernández, UOC researcher, received the Mercè Sala Award for her doctoral thesis Determinants de la competitivitat de les petites i micro empreses en un entorn d’innovació (Determinants of competitiveness of small and micro enterprises in an innovation environment).
