Abstract

This doctoral thesis aims to study the influence of the characteristics of companies and workers on labour matches. The appearance of digital technologies has brought about a significant change in the relationship between supply and demand that can generate imbalances, thus causing job losses (unfilled vacancies) or mismatches between education and the qualifications required for the job. The research covers both sides of the labour market and covers a significantly long period of time to be able to appreciate possible trend evolutions in its workings. The labour market, like the economy, has been affected by major developments that have caused a paradigm shift. These changes have been important due to their magnitude and their speed of implementation. Our research stands out for trying to shed some light on those adaptation processes that have most and best influenced work and therefore those that increase the probability of employment and job fit.
