Ageing, Communication, Technologies (ACT): experiencing a digital world in later life (ACT Project)

Ageing + Communication + Technologies (ACT) is a multi-methodological research project that brings together researchers and institutional and community partners to address the transformation of the experiences of ageing with the proliferation of new forms of mediated communications in networked societies. The main focus of the project is on studying “digital ageism”, biases creating inclusion and exclusion, and their effects in a digitalized world. Besides analyzing this phenomenon, the project will also provide strategies for change in this context.

 
Decrease of cOgnitive decline, malnutRition and sedEntariness by elderly empowerment in lifestyle Management and social Inclusion (DOREMI)

The project aims to develop a systemic solution for older people, which is able to prolong their functional and cognitive capacity by empowering, stimulating and unobtrusively monitoring their daily activities. The project joins together the concept of prevention, centred on the older population with a constructive interaction between mind, body and social engagement.

 
Learn4Health (L4H)

Learn4Health (L4H) promotes change in school children´ food culture and health through school interventions aimed at students and teachers. The initiative responds to a call from the European Union (EU White Paper, 2007) for the improvement and innovation in the way food literacy and nutrition is taught and learned in European schools. In this sense, L4H seeks to bridge the gap between teaching/learning in the classroom and the food/health environment of school age children, through project-based curricular activities that use the daily food and eating practices of those students as curricular context. 

 
Recovering Life Wellbeing through Pain Self-management Techniques Involving ICTs (RELIEF)

RELIEF aims to link European health procurers in order to create the innovative and sustainable solutions that will improve chronic pain control/relieve through ITC self-management techniques.
